Influence of Recycled Plastic Incorporation as Coarse Aggregates on Concrete Properties

Plastic waste has increased significantly in recent years as a result of fast population growth and urbanization. Studies on the incorporation plastic aggregates substitution for natural concrete are needed to successfully reduce both adverse environmental impact depletion resources. The objective this research was investigate use partial coarse concrete. For purpose, seven mixes were produced using 0, 10, 15, 20% replace with without silica fume similar replacement levels cement. Fresh density, workability, compressive strength, splitting tensile stress–strain response, Poisson’s ratio observed study fresh well hardened properties mixtures. Indoor outdoor thermal performance thermo-gravimetric analysis also investigated. results revealed that aggregates’ improved workability concrete; however, it negatively influenced density mechanical strengths aggregate reduced by 32 33%, respectively. reduction strength could be associated smooth texture aggregates. addition resulted denser properties.
